Arch Angel Uriel

Uriel is heralded as one of the four Cardinal Archangels sent to watch over our world. The name Uriel means 'God’s light' or 'Fire of God', appropriately describing the prophetic illumination this Cardinal Angel provides to us in grievous situations. Uriel is also known as the 'Angel of Death' and the 'Angel of Presence'. These titles refer to the comfort the Cardinal Archangel Uriel provides to those who are 'present' in ‘the light of death’. In other words, The Cardinal Archangel Uriel is there for those of us who witness death in the light of love.

UrielTo all those who have lost a loved one, Uriel’s angelic comfort is a presence that can help to transform our sadness and grief into moments of deep insight, and profound experiences. This heavenly transformation is the very definition of “The Cardinal Experience”. It is also the cardinal phenomenon that is the inspiration and the core of the mission of this chapel. The Cardinal Archangel Uriel is the embodiment of the manifestation of enlightenment and hope on earth.

Often symbolized by the fiery sword he holds in his hand, the Cardinal Angel Uriel is believed to be the angel who stood at the gates of Eden. Uriel has long been associated with the elements of thunder and lightening, the earth and the weather. In the book of Enoch, it was the Cardinal Angel Uriel who forewarned and guided Noah through the of the great flood, and it is for this reason that Uriel is still called upon to help humanity in times of natural disasters. It is believed that the power of the Cardinal Archangel Uriel can help us to avert such events, or help us to recover and heal in their aftermath.

In the ancient Kabalistic tradition Uriel is associated with the tree of life, a tree God planted in the center of the Garden of Eden. Tree of life is a significant symbol in cultures and faiths around the world, it links the heavens, the earth, and all that is hidden and growing below. According to the mystic teachings of the Kabala, a study underlying Judaism and Christianity, the tree of life is dual in nature. It consists of two connecting trees, one right side up and one upside-down representing the unity of heaven and earth.

The oak tree is another more familiar symbol of the Cardinal Angel Uriel. The tree is a powerful symbol of spiritual growth as it is the only living thing that continues to grow throughout its lifetime. The tree is also connected to family lines and ancestral heritage, revered for generations as a profound source of wisdom, which can only be revealed with the help of ‘God’s Light’.
